Really? I love genuine places like this, when the focus is on the food and service rather than someone else's fancy schmancy idea of what a restaurant should look like. While I'm not sure I would take a first date here (unless you happened to already know that they had a hankering for places whose old facade and cluttered little interior have *character* and whose food is truly delicious), I absolutely would bring along any friends who want to chill in a little old diner while they wait for Thai food. The challenge: eat a quick, delicious meal and walk a block over to a film featured at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art in a little under an hour. Easy peasy. Despite our host's earnest apology for slow service due to a rush, I felt the food arrived in a timely manner. For an appetizer, we ordered spring rolls, which come fried. Those babies were air-lifted straight from the deep fryer to our table. Best to let them cool off before you tuck in. We also ordered a #28- green curry with eggplant, bamboo shoots (yum), thai basil, and mixed bell peppers. I chose shrimp, and the curry came with a little bowl of rice. The spice, even though I requested 1 star, was strong. Can't imagine what 2, 3, or 4 star heat would taste like! Not for the weak of tongue! I poured a little into my rice to temper the heat a bit. Even so, I couldn't finish the curry; our friendly, attentive waiter kindly brought me a container to take the leftovers home with me. The best plate we had was the beef stir fry, #20. The whole dish was full of flavor, the vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the beef was absolutely delicious. I'm not much of a beef fan, but I found myself waxing poetic and wiggling in my seat with every bite. What happened in that magical (tiny, low-tech) kitchen? I would return to Thai Kitchen Cafe for #20 (with beef) alone, but I'm sure there are equally yummy things on the menu. The next time I'm trying to fit a quick and satisfying dinner in before a film at the MOA, I'll be back!

The place is a little small and the ambiance is of that in a Thai place in the city - not one of those posh ones. All of the staff is quirky, detailed, and enthusiastic, though we did need to ask for some more water a couple of times. Both the appetizer -fried cheese- and our curries took a little while, but I truly believe it is because it is made fresh - the taste and how hot it was was astounding! Perfectly spiced! A heat level of two is really a two - and a three a three! I can't tell you how many times I ask for a two and I can't taste any spice or it's so spicy that I have to ask for a ton more rice. Can't pick a favorite between the musaman and the green curries. The amount of food in their portions was amazing! I take half of my curry home every time!

I've been here before and it was really AWESOME, so I was REALY disappointed when I showed up for more delicious Thai food to see they were closed. According to yelp and their website, 1:30pm on a Saturday was within their normal business hours, so I'm not sure if we caught them on an off day, or if they're closed for good. Any insight from any other fellow yelpers?

I am such a big fan of Thai Kitchen! I came across it when I worked in the area and I'm so glad I did. My first few trips I ordered off the menu but I recently had the lunch buffet. Somehow I thought the buffet couldn't be that good because I feel like Thai needs to be consumed soon after it is cooked. Thankfully it's all fresh because they have to replenish everything so quickly! It was great to get a variety and try some things I haven't had before. There are these fried triangles with some kind of filling, not even sure what, that were amazing. Also, I have a serious dilemma every time I have to decide between a noodle dish like pad Thai or pad see ew and a curry dish. I love being able to have both! Don't come here expecting anything fancy, but you will get some damn good Thai food.

Best Thai In Town! We eat here so much for lunch we've become regulars and they know what we're going to order even before we do! Buffet gives you the opp to try all their yummy creations for under $10 but we always choose to order off their menu. Pad Thai and Panang Curry are my two favs on the menu. This is not a fancy place but that means their food is even more scrumptious. Great place to get in and out for a quick work bite! Plus they have Thai beers you can't find in most other OKC locations like Singha and Chang. Love this place and the people who run the business!

It kind of blows my mind how anyone could give Thai Kitchen less than five stars. It is so good. So. Good. My mom told me about this place a few years ago, and I have only been a few times but it is a hidden gem downtown. Yes, warn your guests that it's a bit grungy, but once they taste the food, it won't even matter. The holes in the wall are sometimes the best restaurants! The weekday lunch buffet is phenomenal. You can pretty much sample the entire menu for less than $10. My favorites from the buffet were the jalapeno chicken, which was sauteed with bell peppers, onions and jalapenos, and the spicy chicken, which was just lightly breaded and cooked in some goodness. Pad Thai is my favorite Thai dish, and it was great as well with some of the chicken dishes mixed in. Green beans were good, spring rolls were good, and I tried the red and yellow curry - both delicious. Surprisingly, the desserts were really good too. They just looked like store-bought cookies and cakes, and maybe they were, but the chocolate cake was so soft and delicious. I think the environment is just part of this place, and I kind of love it. It doesn't look like much, but is always packed at lunch with people in suits - obviously it's not too grungy for them!

Soooo yummy! Their lunch menu is only $6.99. You get a great selection plus eggroll or soup. The ladies there are so nice. We came around late, after 2pm so they ran out of some things, but offered us substitutes. The food is excellent! The Panang curry was delicious and the spicy noodles (can't remember the exact name) was so flavorful! The buffet was closed by the time we got there, but we will definitely come back to try it. In fact, I'm salivating just thinking about the food, now!!

This is a great hole in the wall Thai buffet for lunch in the Okc downtown business district. Don't expect a fancy atmosphere or any frills as it is a bit of a dive but it has a yummy and satisfying lunch buffet...and I'm not even big into buffets. It's a must try for anyone working downtown. You won't go away hungry.

I am torn on this place. One the one hand, the employees are beyond friendly, and the food was fantastic. On the other hand, it's very crowded at lunch, very hot, and the buffet was never more than halfway full when I went. Additionally, they were out of curry and both types of rice almost the entire time we were there. We arrived at Thai Kitchen Café right at noon and the place was already 3/4 full. As other Yelpers note, it can get very crowded at lunch time, and the buffet is situated right where you walk in/pay. It's not a very good set up, given how popular this place is, I would think some remodeling and expansion is in order. After we paid, we got right into it. The steamed rice bowl was less than half full, which was as full as it would be the entire time we were there. Had I known, I would have grabbed more rice at the beginning. Of the 3 curry dishes, only the green had enough in it to try. Not surprisingly, it was fantastic. I wish I could put this stuff in a cup with a straw and just drink it all day. The spicy chicken on the buffet line was good, as was the jalapeno chicken. Although, both weren't available when I arrived, so I had to check the buffet after sitting down to see if anything was added. Glad I did, both are fantastic. I wanted to try the fried cream cheese things, but they were never available during my time at Thai Kitchen. The food is cooked very well here, chicken juicy and not overcooked. The sauces are complex and flavorful, the veggies crispy. The employees are very friendly, although we waited nearly 10 minutes for water upon sitting down. Also, we had to bus a table to have a place to sit. This place gets very crowded during lunch, which is great for them, but makes for a stressful dining experience. I'll return, I can imagine when the buffet is full this place is quite a find.

Thai Kitchen is awesome if you're one of those that are on the go during the weekdays. They offer a buffet between 11 am - 2 pm on the weekdays. If you're not available at those times then their menu is also pretty damn good. I recommend the Yellow Curry and the Phat Kee Mao. They offer spice levels between 1 - 4. I'd stick to a 2 and just add some spices to it unless you want to sweat it out. The restaurant is small and decorated with thai sculptures. At first glance, you wouldn't be sure about eating there but it's very inviting and like a home. The owners really take care of you and they make sure you are fine and that you have water to drink. I really enjoy the hospitality here. The reason it isn't 5 stars is that they are very limited on dishes. For the dishes they do have, they do a great job. I wished the appetizers would be a lot more flavorful like their entrees. Give this place a try!

Buffet proved to be worth the price. Good assortment of dishes, fried egg rolls, and a couple of simple desserts. Panang curry wasn't the best, but it managed to satisfy the craving. Extremely busy during the lunch rush. Seating can be a challenge.

  • Stephen T.

Doesn't look like much, but they have it where it counts. Lunch buffet, good spice levels. Flavorful curry and other dishes. You really can't go wrong. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You never feel ignored or in need.

Stopped into Thai Kitchen for lunch today and it did not disappoint. For a hole-in-the-wall the food is excellent, and the staff is always really friendly. I went with an especially picky coworker of mine and even she loved it. The green curry is one of my faves, and today they had a dish on the buffet that was chickpeas, diced potatoes, and ground chicken - it was amazing - one of the best Thai dished I've ever had. #nomnomnom I usually skip the deep-fried food because the stir-fry's and curry's are so much more worth the calories. It does scare me a little that a Thai buffet this good is right around the corner from where I work. Hear that sound? That's the sound of me getting fatter from eating Thai Kitchen once a week.

  • Caressa S.

The pad Thai? The Brussels sprouts? The green beans? The mushrooms? Spicy chicken? Spring rolls? THE GREEN CURRY? Just so much yes. Went there for the lunch buffet today and was welcomed by a lovely woman who kindly made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my lunch break. Even with driving 10 minutes there and back, I was back to my office seat less than an hour after I left for food. Lovely people, amazing food, inexpensive price. I mean, what more could you want?

Great food and great service! For a quick lunch, this is the place to go and very affordable. Definitely coming back to this gem.

The greasiness of this place can be polarizing. I grew up eating greasy Thai noodles so not only do I not mind it, but it's a requirement for my Thai food. With that being said, I love this place. The lunch buffet is okay, but it's a great deal. Ordering from the menu is preferred. Pad see ew is my favorite. The hot soup is delicious, as is the egg rolls. Sometimes you get both for free - haven't quite figured out how they decide when to do this, but I'd order it if they don't give it to you. Delicious.

what a great find! walking in the place looks a bit sketchy, but often these are the very best places. this is no exception. the waitress was very friendly. the lunch menu is small and concise, which I always prefer over vast menus. I ordered pa naang, and my buddy got phad thai. both we're very nice. mine was spicy enough (I ordered 5 on a scale of 1-4). unfortunately we came between lunch and dinner and they didn't have tom yum soup ready yet, so that was kind of a bummer. really fantastic food, and great value. lunch was $7, and I left reasonably full. I guess they have a lunch buffet as well, but we were too late for that. will definitely return next time I'm in OKC and highly recommended as a no frills fast and delicious lunch.

I am not sure why this is called Thai. This isn't Thai. It is some weird American food

The red curry did not come with chicken as ordered. One fresh spring roll was small and had no shrimp. Pad see ew was bland and had a weird smell.

Went for dinner with family. Its a hole in a wall with good flavors. Would reccomend to locals and out of towners. Too bad they didn't have fresh Thai peppers, but they managed with out it well.

  • Erik W.

I admit, we only got Thai tea on our way back to the car, but the service was fast and friendly despite being the middle of the lunch rush, She even asked if we wanted more or less ice in the tea! The buffet (right inside the door) looked fresh and smelled delicious. I wish we could have stayed for lunch. It is a little divey and spartan, but sometimes that is for the best !

  • Andy M.

This place seems popular with the locals. It's got good food and provides a lot of value for the money, with big portions for small prices. It's one of the few affordable, casual options in the Bricktown area, that seems surrounded by higher priced restaurants. We had the Seafood Yam (salad) and the Red Curry for dinner. They were really tasty, though they did the curry with pineapple, which wasn't a favorite of ours. Still, one food snob and one co-owner of an Asian restaurant from another state agree, this place has great food, good service, and good portions at an affordable price.

Rely good buffet. AC is not good, but the food makes up for it. Must like Thai food and the spicy that comes with it. Very good and fresh.

*sigh* Second visit and I'm kind of sad. It was busy because we arrived at around 12:45. They were just re-filling up the food in the buffet, but to my relief they still had the vegetarian pad thai available. I wanted to try doing an all veggie lunch day. Hot egg rolls were good, but they ran out of curry and green beans tasted terrible. I know they were stressing out about getting hot food back on the line, but it just tasted old and funny. The staff there is so incredibly nice so I cannot bear to down grade my review

Definitely one of those hole in the wall type places, so close to the center of downtown it almost seems out of place. I've been a few times now, and there's nothing truly unique on the menu, but does there have to be? It's what you're looking for: essential Thai on the cheap in an unpretentious setting. Not the best Thai I've ever had, but good enough that I keep going back. We've gotten the same waitress every time now. It's never crowded (take-out seems to be more popular), so you'll see a lot of her, and it'll seem like you're being hustled to place an order. However, that's just cause she has nothing better to do, and my friend and I have sat around for an hour and change without feeling badgered to leave. All of the staff from front to back are super friendly and very fast. Meals are usually out within 5-10 minutes from order placement. I've never seen anybody come or go without a greeting/farewell, and they seem to know a handful of people by name. So what this place may lack in appearance, it certainly makes up for with friendly service.

Little downtown place with great food! I normally call in my order to go. The staff is friendly. The buffet is small but what is offer is great. Has a large dine in area, decor is not a big deal, it's the food that counts. Love their curry sauces! Only complaint is it goes fast at lunch so if you want to get some get there early or have a late lunch!

Best Thai food in OKC. Genuine family owned and operated. Great people, service, prices and of course best food.

  • Aarash G.

Best Thai food I have had in OKC. Don't let the restaurant itself throw you off. The food is great and the service is very friendly. I would suggest ordering from the menu rather than the lunch buffet.

Complete hole-in-the-wall but thats why I was drawn to it. No frills but wonderful service from our waiter (even though I thought he was maybe all of 10 years old). I had the phat khing with a 3 star spicy rating (you pick 1-4 spice levels) and it was definitely spicy, most people probably wouldn't be able to handle it and there's no way I would have chanced the 4 level! The spring rolls were incredibly fresh but so loosely rolled they fell apart. I just used my fork instead of my hands. I would give this place a 3 star rating in other cities but since it's in OKC I'm giving it 4 stars. I will go back and have recommended it to another friend that travels to OKC regularly.

  • Drew D.

Best Thai you can find in OKC. Their curry was delicious!

    (5)
  • Aisha M.

The food was amazing and I will definately go back. Though it was a tad bit spicy (even for level1), it didn't stop me from devouring my little feast of Phat Kee Mao. Note to self "just say 0 for spice level" for all those none-spicy/hot food lovers...

This is for sure my favorite restaurant in Oklahoma City; I make it a point to eat here every time I visit. The staff is always attentive and friend and the food is always top notch and authentic.

My Thai food obsession is getting a little out of hand, but really though, Thai Kitchen Cafe is at the top of my list. The only thing I've actually had is the Pad Kee Mao (shocking) and vegetarian spring rolls, all of which were wonderful. My only problem is that I have come back and had the same thing and it wasn't as good as the time before so problem #1 is that the consistency is off a little since the first time I had the Pad Kee Mao it was AMAZING and the second time it was ehhhh and then the third time it was great, although not as good as the first time. Run on sentence, anyone? Anyway, I don't know what's up with their consistency but it's a little off. Their buffet looks fantastic and I have been a little disappointed with myself for not ever splurging on the buffet because they are constantly bringing out fresh food. The location of this restaurant is pretty terrible considering parking and the inside of the restaurant is iffy but that's not what matters. The food is good and the price is right so I will keep going back and hopefully can give them another star if they become a little more consistent with their noodles.

  • Beth K.

Had red curry dish and asked for extra veggies rather than meat or tofu. Curry flavor was good, but veggies were peas&carrots (obviously from a freezer pack), canned pineapple, raisins, and bell pepper. Would like more fresh hearty veggies in my dish like some broccoli, cauliflower, fresh beans etc... when opting for no meat. Also they were out of 3 beers from the short beer list, and the table was not all that clean. Decent meal but low chance that I would return.

This is quick-and-dirty thai buffet food during a lunch rush downtown. If that's exactly what you're looking for you're in for a treat, because the food is tasty, inexpensive at under $10, and conveniently located. If your expectations wander outside of those lines, you may be disappointed. The selection seems to be the same each day. What's more, once the lunch rush dies down around 1pm, many of the buffet items aren't re-stocked unless you specifically request them (We all know how that goes. You don't necessarily want them to cook an entire batch just so you can have a few bites). The environment is cramped, not very clean, and a persistent reminder that customer service and cleanliness are not on the top of most thai restaurants' priorities. Let me restate: The food really is pretty tasty.

Thank you Yelp for pointing us in the right direction! It is definitely a little run down and crowded and chaotic but TOTALLY worth it for the amazing food. We both had the lunch buffet and were disappointed for not having the room in our bellies to try everything. It would be difficult to choose a favorite dish because they were all so good. The curries....all of the curries were so amazing. Hopefully we will visit Oklahoma sometime again so we can come back!

Went to see a show at the civic center and we were desperately looking for food (which was oddly hard to find in that area?), it's not a particularly conspicuous location. As far as the interior goes I liked it enough, bit hot but I don't expect much else in an Oklahoma summer. Our server was really friendly if not a bit busy as I think she may have been the only one working tables ? not that we really minded, it wasn't super busy and we weren't in any particular rush. My friends were delighted with the curries they got (Red and Massaman) and I was pleased enough with my cashew nut stir fry. I'll admit having worked in a Thai restaurant before I've been a bit spoiled and was somewhat disappointed with the menu selection but that's not a fault I can really blame them for.

Stopped here for dinner on a one day trip to OKC. It was downtown, close to the National Memorial, & had great Yelp reviews. I loved this place! The interior is your standard hasn't-been-updated-since-the-grand-opening cheap tables, vinyl chairs, & typical Asian trinket decor. I personally wished it was more updated, but it's the food that counts. I sat down and was quickly greeted by the waiter. He was very friendly & attentive, gave good advice on my dish, went to the kitchen promptly to ask the chef my question, and took my order. My Thai tea came out right away, but he poured too much milk into it & it was practically white. I could barely taste the tea. I apologetically sent it back, but the server was very gracious about it. I ordered the rad na with fresh tofu (not fried) & it was amazing!!! It came in a bowl with a light but flavorful gravy, flat rice noodles, & loads of veggies & tofu. Perfect end to a long travel day of no food.

We sat in the back corner - LOVED IT! Recommend the buffet for lunch, especially the curries and spring rolls. Great pit-stop for hungry traveling kids. Fresh limes. Just ask and they'll make more. The napkins are a little rough on the nose. Duck sauce superb. Sprain rolls fantastic. Charming singular staff member. She never let my water empty.

I'm not sure what was more endearing: the fact that even though they were closed between regular lunch hours and dinner they let me in, or how nice and accommodating they were with me once I got in. The open sign was on, I was in dangerous blood-sugar-dropping-angry territory. But the door was locked! I only hope I didn't yank repeatedly on the door or look up to the sky and angrily ask why! Because before I could storm off in the way that only a spoiled girl can, they opened the door and warmly welcomed me in. I ordered, interrupting their short break, but never feeling less than an honored guest. My food was ready in two shakes of a lamb's tail. I took my yummy green curry back to the station to eat. The meat was quality, the sauce rich and spicy and full of crispy (not soggified) veggies. Perfect rice. I wanted to eat all of it and also wanted to save part of it, which is my barometer for good take out. I found the inside to be shabbily reassuring. If I were in Seattle, I'd be like, Seattle's so cool, look at this place that's been around forever with weird stairs and carpet. And in OKC, you're like, what is this place? But in OKC, we get the yummy, edgy downtown Thai place, but ours is run by some of the nicest people you're likely to meet. Reason number 4,726 I love this odd little city.

This is a great family run place. The food is amazing, just great. The owners are great and personable. Yellow curry is out of this world. The cookies are an overlooked gem. I would give more stars if I could but 5 is the most I can give.

The lunch buffet is the way to go - there is a great variety with lots of flavor. The spicy chicken was awesome and the curry sauces were good. The staff worked to keep the dishes full and fresh. The atmosphere is a little dingy, but it was not dirty by any means.

Located in the downtown area, parking can be a bit of a hassle. I was lucky enough to find metered parking caddy corner from the restaurant. The place was a bit of a dive. There were still Christmas lights and garland hanging on the windows.....in March. It's an old building and kind of cramped. The buffet area was very small and it's in a separate room than the dining room. I ordered off the menu instead of going for the buffet. I got the Phat Spicey noodles which consisted of eggs, cabbage, chili sauce, bean sprouts, onions, and carrots. It came with soup and a spring roll. I wasn't so impressed with the sides. Couldn't even finish the Tom Yum soup. It tasted watered down. The spring roll tasted like fried pastry, couldn't even taste what was inside. The noodles were pretty good. It was extra spicy - just how I like it! The people who work here are extremely nice. Like really, really nice! So they get 5 stars for customer service. This is not my favorite Thai place, however. It's just ok. Most of the customers were dressed in business casual so everyone probably worked in the area, including me. I'd probably stop by again in the future but it's a bit of a risk to try to find parking, order the food, and make it back to work all within my 1 hour lunch break.

Best Thai food in the city! Get the Mussaman curry with Tofu, and you'll be transported to a higher dimension. Very friendly people, too. Spiciness level 4 = seriously spicy. Are you strong enough??

Been to the reasonably priced lunch buffet, have eaten dinner there, and have ordered takeout. Food was excellent, and the people who work there are always ready to please. Decor is a little 'hole in the wall', but it adds character.

Best Thai food in OKC. Atmosphere not so much so I recommend take out! Owners are the nicest and genuine people you will ever meet. I eat the #20 with chicken and getting hungry just typing this. Lunch buffet is a favorite among downtowners, but we usually order dinner take out.

Food was pretty good but was expecting more. I walked over from the Sheraton hotel after reading all the great reviews. The decor and cleanliness are what you would expect in Bangkok. The kitchen is tiny yet the dinning room quite large. The menu has plenty to chose from. I ordered the drunken noodle lunch special hot which came woth two spring rolls. My own opinion was too sweet and too oily. The spiciness was fairly mild although i ordered hot. I think must of their business is lunch buffet patrons. Service was fast and efficient.

Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning craving Thai Kitchen! Absolutely delicious. Making a push for the top thai spot in OKC, but I think Panang still takes the cake. As a close 2nd, thai kitchen delivers great thai food at an amazing price. They have a lunch buffet to die for. Wide selection, including curries, pad thai dishes, veggies, and meat dishes. Mouth-watering-ly good! They also have desserts to choose from and wonderful service! I drink a lot of water at restaurants and my water was never half empty! $7-$8 for lunch buffet for some amazing thai food! Well worth it! Conclusion = What are you waiting for! Must try - Bomb lunch buffet - Great food - Great curries - Tasty pad thai - Fast service - Difficult parking at times (especially lunch)

I had the pleasure of meeting Thai Kitchen's owners while they were enjoying a good meal after they had closed Thai Kitchen for the evening. They were so nice and open that I made a point to visit Thai Kitchen this visit. It was the quintessential Thai restaurant- with all the classic dishes, and plenty of options for vegetarians. I enjoyed my tofu salad, and the excellent peanut sauce it was served with. As I suspected, the service was kind and attentive, and the customers were all enjoying themselves. I can't wait to go back and try their curries!

Warning: When you walk into the place you may really question your initial urge to consume Thai food there. Yes, the interior is old, and has a questionable cleanliness and an overall grimy feel to it BUT the Thai food is pretty good. Will I eat in again, probably not, but I have ordered out a few times and still plan on doing so.

Cramped & Filthy... Food was not Thai - but they had a lot of spicy items. I got a very good look at the kitchen from the cramped area between the cash register and the buffet. I can't un-see that image in my head of a Mexican guy cooking in what is otherwise a very dirty kitchen - I almost ran into at least 10 people while I was waiting to order. 3 of them work there - and 7 of them were customers running into each other including me. I might be even more disgusted if I saw every single kitchen of all the establishments where I've eaten in the past and compared to this place - but I can say without a shred of doubt that this place scares me. I can only hope that I've not contracted something because I was more than taken back by the way this place looks and the quality of the food. The food was really not very good - I'm sure that some eat here and like the SOHO style but not me. Let's put it this way - for the foodies - if chef Ramsey were to show up here, he would be screaming at them. No, I'm not coming back.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the city. It's not fancy but the food is to die for. I almost always go for one of their curries. The Mussaman curry is my fave but is not available as a lunch special. I also love their soups. Nothing I have gotten from here has been bad. At lunch time they also have a very popular buffet. You will see groups of people from all walks of life eating here which to me is always a good sign. So if you are around downtown give this place a try.

Food: 5 star. Environment: 1 star. I love the taste of the food! Yummy! But the wait... no so much. We came for lunch and decided to make it to-go, and it took us more than 20 minutes to get the food! Don't try to wait for your food at the cashier, because there's no space, and their staff and other customers would need to pass by 100 times. I don't want to see the kitchen... Ambience? Not exist. I was planning for a casual (business) team dinner here, and fortunately we did come. It would not be a good idea to have business dinner here, because it looks old and even shabby. But I'm sure I'll go back for the food.

Very satisfied with my take-out lunch buffet. I looked this place up on Yelp and showed up for a late lunch. The owners greeted me, and asked what I would like for lunch. They made pad thai on the spot and I took away a box of delicious thai food, spicy soup, spring rolls, and fortune cookies--which was enough for two meals I think. Pleasant service, reasonable price, and only a block or two from where I work. I will be visiting this place again!

Food was decent. Oatmeal raisin cookie was probably the best thing I had. Went right after 12:00 and most buffet items were close to empty. It was pretty warm in there.

I've been working downtown for a few years and this a go-to spot for a quick, affordable and tasty lunch. Recently I've been in the evening when the buffet is put away and the menu is the only option. Even more tasty! Friendly, quick service, too. REALLY glad they survived Project 180!

The Phat Horapha and Phat Khee Mao were great. The vegetables in the soup were not overdone which made for a nice semi-crisp texture. Don't mind the snowflake decorations in July, I believe this is a locally owned and operated restaurant, not a franchise. Also, the owners and staff were all very friendly and personable.

I want to like this place because it is close to me, but the pad thai had a slight burnt/bitter taste to it. The Massaman curry tasted better. Service was good but kitchen area looked sketchier than the average Thai restaurant. I'd probably go back, but plan to stick to the other places on 23rd st.

The condition of the interior was a bit run down. We sat down and waited for a menu as directed but it took a while for service. The menu was very short, only one page long. Our server seemed like a bus boy who just happened to be taking our order. He was quiet and shy but seemed nice and hardworking. Our appetizer soups were lukewarm and basically just a dark broth. I was unimpressed. Our entrees were good though. I ate the cashew pineapple dish. The next time I'm craving Thai food, I will try a different restaurant. This place seemed like a great lunch spot for people who work nearby and need a quick lunch (I saw a lot of people go for the buffet which looked fresh and convenient).

When we set out for dinner from our hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, I would not have guessed that we would discover remarkably tasty Thai food, but we did. The decor is incredibly minimal, and the place was basically empty, except for a throng of children who appeared to be related to the gentleman inside. But he was constantly dashing out for deliveries, and I gather that its real clientele does delivery or lunch. The food also took a while to arrive (and he thanked us at the end for our patience) but it was worth the wait. (Service was also incredibly nice-- checks split for nine people with no fuss, refilled waters and fussed-over spice levels, plus he was enthusiastic about people ordering tofu.) I had spicy stir-fried noodles but the "fish in favor sauce" would in hindsight have been the best choice. Three stars if it were in any area with a moderately large number of Thai restaurants (like New Haven, Hyde Park, or Washington D.C.). Four stars 'cause it's not.

Pretty good food. Buffet style food. Food is pretty good but there isn't a ton of choices. Feels like like a cafeteria.

This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall mom and pop restaurant. I've had better pad thai, but I will return because the owners were SO NICE! The decor is very sparse and run-down. Like William B. said, most of their clientele is probably through delivery. However, my friend, who's a medical student at the OU Health Sciences Center down the street, and I dined in and ate a very leisurely, late Saturday afternoon lunch. We used a restaurant.com gift certificate/coupon which forced us to buy a minimum of $35 worth of food, then discounted us $25. Honestly, we had a REALLY hard time making that $35 minimum between just 2 people. We shared an appetizer of spring rolls which came out piping hot and delicious. The order normally only comes with 3 spring rolls, but the owner added an extra complimentary 4th one because she knew we were sharing. Little things like that really make a difference. My friend ordered a Thai Tea and pad thai. The pad thai was a generous portion, but definitely on the salty side (maybe too much soy sauce?). I ordered the pineapple fried rice which was a little dry and very curry based. Next time, maybe I'll try the flat rice noodles. We tried to order dessert to make our minimum of $35, but the sticky rice and mangos were out of season. The owner offered to bring us some slices of cake she had in the back. She ended up not charging us for the cake (They were tasty, but I think they were store-bought and from their home above the restaurant...I felt kind of guilty). Anyway, were able to order 2 more thai teas and an order of pad thai to-go in order to make our $35 minimum to use our restaurant.com gift certificate. Bottom line, you can definitely find better food and atmosphere elsewhere, but the prices and service at Thai Kitchen are excellent.

One of the better Thai restaurants in OKC. Downtown, close to the Federal Courthouse, so get there early (opens at 11:00), otherwise all the good food will be gone by 12:30. Most lunch items are chicken based - their yellow chicken curry is spectacular, as is their larb. Choice of steamed or fried rice and then one, two, or three entrees. Pad Thai is good, spicy chicken is good, and... and... and... I have eaten here several times a month for years. Good food at inexpensive prices.

Very authentic and love the location. I got the tofu pad Thai. It was good but not awesome, lacking a little flavor. Also for reference, I asked for medium spice and it was pretty mild.

If I'm being honest with myself I should not have eaten Thai food in Oklahoma City. The restaurant is a hole in the wall and easy to miss. I should have walked out when I was greeted by a white chef but hey given the reviews I decided to stay. I started by ordering the Tom Kha Kai soup. It was much thicker than I was used to and had an interesting flavor but was just ok. For dinner I got Phat Nam Prick Pao. It's hard to say how it tasted because it looks like a bottle of chili pepper flakes exploded on my plate. There was literally a pile on the side. I could only eat half of it before my sinuses and stomach had enough. They ran out of the beer I wanted by 5p. All was saved when I saw mango sticky rice on the menu but I was informed the menu was not up to date and that was an item no longer being sold. To top it all off we had an awful server. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was brand new. We never got waters, any time we had a request or ordered something it took us repeating ourselves 3 times before he remembered. He only had 2 tables. We asked him to split the check 3x and he even repeated our request back to us but we got a single check. If you are visiting do the smart thing and eat local American food.
